About HBCU Harvest

HBCU Harvest is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering students and their families to navigate the world of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Our mission is to demystify the college application process, foster a deep understanding of HBCU culture and legacy, and champion the pursuit of higher education within this vibrant community. Founded on a multi-generational legacy of HBCU graduates, including alumni from Hampton University, Grambling State University, and Prairie View A&M University, HBCU Harvest provides personalized guidance and resources to help students find the perfect fit for their academic journey and future aspirations. We believe that every student with the desire to attend an HBCU should have the knowledge, support, and opportunity to do so.

Legacy is the CULTURE We Build Together as a Community

Ashley Harden, M.Ed

Founder & Principal Consultant

As a Hampton University alumna (GO PIRATES!) and a seasoned educator with over 17 years of experience, Ashley Harden founded HBCU Harvest with a deep-rooted passion for Historically Black Colleges and Universities and a profound belief in their transformative power. Holding a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling, Ashley has dedicated her career to helping students navigate their academic journeys, serving as a high school teacher, K-12 instructional coach, and higher education instructional designer.

The mission of HBCU Harvest is a personal one for Ashley. Her own family's multi-generational legacy at HBCUs, including Hampton University, Grambling State University, Tuskegee University, Norfolk State University, Spelman College, Texas Southern University, Jarvis Christian College, Southern University, and Prairie View A&M University, fuels her commitment to helping families discover and embrace the unique community, culture, and legacy that these institutions offer. She believes that EACH student deserves the knowledge and support needed to not only get accepted into college, but to find a place where they can truly thrive and belong.

Ashley is a strategic partner and mentor, and her goal is to empower the next generation of leaders by providing the guidance and resources to successfully navigate the entire HBCU selection, application, and funding process.
