Application Guidance & Support:

Your Path to an HBCU

The journey to a Historically Black College and University is one of great significance. Your college application is more than just a collection of forms and grades; it is your personal narrative, your blueprint for the future, and your formal request to join a powerful legacy. This process is your opportunity to step into the spotlight and show institutions, like Langston University, Tuskegee University, and Howard University, precisely who you are and why you belong on their campus.

Every single component of the application is a vital piece of the puzzle. It’s where your academic achievements meet your passions, and where your unique voice connects with the rich history and culture of the HBCU community. Navigating it successfully requires strategy, clarity, and confidence. Our mission is to ensure that your unique story—and the powerful legacy you are ready to build—is seen, heard, and valued by admissions committees. The college application process doesn't have to be overwhelming.

At HBCU Harvest, We Empower YOU to Navigate Every Step with Confidence.

Applying for Your Future

Choosing how to apply can be the first challenge. We recommend leveraging two powerful platforms that are widely used by Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The Common Black College Application

  • Apply to 67 participating HBCUs with a single application for a one-time fee of only $20.

The Common Application (Common App)

  • Used by many prominent HBCUs, including Howard University and Spelman College, the Common App allows you to apply to multiple schools using one main form.

Direct Institutional Application

  • The final path to completing your application is the Direct Institutional Application. For HBCUs that are not members of the Common App or the CBCA, you will submit your materials directly through the university's own official website or online application portal.

  • This is also an option if you don't want to use either of the common applications.
