Dr. Jeremy Speikes
Treasurer
Dr. Jeremy Speikes is a finance and budget executive with more than 15 years of experience across public education, government, higher education, and the private sector. He currently serves as Assistant Director of Finance for Arlington Public Schools, where he oversees financial operations, budgeting, grants, and capital projects to support the success of students and schools.
Previously, Dr. Speikes served as Budget Officer for DC Public Schools within the District of Columbia Office of the Chief Financial Officer, leading the $1.2 billion budget planning process. His career also includes leadership roles at George Washington University, Deloitte Consulting, and Johnson & Johnson, where he has consistently focused on strategic planning, financial stewardship, and organizational improvement.
A proud magna cum laude graduate of the Illustrious Howard University, Dr. Speikes is deeply committed to expanding access to higher education and ensuring students understand the opportunities available at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. He holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Learning in Organizations from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in Management from The Catholic University of America. Through his service on the board, he supports the organization’s mission to empower students and their families with the guidance and resources needed to successfully navigate the HBCU selection, application, and funding process.
